Read more about the SummerSupperSomm Series:

Richmond, VA (March 2026) — SummerSupperSomm, the acclaimed experiential dinner series, invites food and wine lovers and the heirloom-curious for their 2026 season with an award-winning lineup encompassing Virginia’s finest culinary and viticultural talent. Created and curated by David and Barbara Hunsaker of Village Garden RVA with support from the Virginia Wine Board Marketing Office, the series pairs rare heirlooms and their stories with premium Virginia wines in a multi-course “edutainment” format that has become a staple rooted in the vibrant flavors of the Southern summer.

About SummerSupperSomm Founded in 2021, SummerSupperSomm is a roving celebration that explores food history and great wines through the lens of rare fruit specimens. Each multi-course event features tomatoes hand-selected from the Hunsakers’ collection of hundreds of heirloom varieties grown at Village Garden RVA since 2011

Charitable Mission Beyond the plate, SummerSupperSomm remains dedicated to supporting Greater Richmond SCAN (Stop Child Abuse Now). With over $21,000 raised since inception, the 2026 series will continue its fundraising efforts through silent auctions of heirlooms, limited-edition merchandise and original botanical artwork. This year the series artist is Emily S. Franklin of Virginia Beach, who has created dozens of works for notable charity efforts.
