Good Luck Cellars Winery Review

One of the best in Virginia's Northern Neck

If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in Virginia’s Northern Neck, a trip to Good Luck Cellars is worth the stop.

Located down a road less traveled sits the farm with 25 acres of vineyards. The wines are made exclusively from vineyard or locally grown grapes that seem to impart the wines with nice fruit and a balanced acidity. The whites are refreshing, and the reds are easy to drink on their own or great for food pairing.

The tasting room was a nice break from the heat and big enough to accommodate large groups. My Irish side enjoyed the four leaf clovers found on both the wall and the wine labels.

After the tasting, you can enjoy a bottle or a glass on the vast wrap around porch outside, with seating overlooking the vines. You wouldn’t know it looking over the vineyard, but the property sits on an old sand and gravel mine.

Our June visit revealed leaves of vibrant green and grape bunches just taking shape. It’s too early in the season to know how this crop of fruit will end up, but the winemakers seem to do a good job of making the grapes into a glass of something special.
