Muse Vineyards

Establish 2005

Muse Vineyards is a boutique vineyard in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley where art, science, passion, and reverence for the tradition of classic wine making converge to produce award-winning wine.

In 2015 just a few short years after our founding, Muse’s 2009 Clio, a Bordeaux-style, blend, was named Virginia’s top wine and awarded the coveted 2015 Virginia Governor’s Cup, besting some 400 entries from across the state.

At Muse Vineyards, our inspiration, our devotion to time-honored farming and wine production techniques and our passionate pursuit of excellence are an homage to the legendary domaine vineyards of France and Italy. Rarely larger than 35 acres and often family-owned and operated for centuries, such vineyards represent for us the ideal of artisanal, premium wine-making craft.

Muse Vineyards is a family owned winery located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley in Woodstock, Virginia just 90 minutes southwest of DC. The winery specializes in the production of premium wines inspired by the practices of the domaine wineries of France and Italy. Each aspect of the growing, fermenting, pressing, aging and bottling of the wine is done on-site. Beginning with carefully-selected estate grown grapes, winemaker Tim Rausse creates wines inspired by the old-world that showcase the remarkable quality and terroir of the Shenandoah Valley. We invite you to visit our modern tasting room.

What is Meritage?

This history of the use of the word Meritage in labeling wines really is fascinating. The brainchild of a group of American vintners, who wanted a way to identify and promote American wines that used the same grapes as those used in...

    Winery Review: Paradise Springs

When I am in the mood for good wine but not in the mood to drive, Paradise Springs is my answer. Not only is it close to DC (it's actually the closest winery to DC), but the wines are extraordinary! In fact, five of their wines won gold...
