A new winery in Liden, Virginia

Chatham Vineyards is owned and operated by the Wehner family at historic Chatham Farm which has been a working farm for four centuries.

At over 1,000 feet elevation but conveniently located just off of Route 522, near Front Royal and I-66, the Cellars is a prime destination for day trippers or weekenders seeking a tranquil, intimate, friendly place to put their feet up, taste through Bernd Jung's estate-grown Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and innovative blends, and let their eyes feast on lovingly tended vines and the endless blue mountains and hills of the southeast Piedmont.

Come and visit our unique man-made wine cave on our 215-acre estate, nestled at the foot of Short Hill Mountain, adorned with several ponds and gently rolling hills. All of our wines are estate grown in our 20-acre vineyard and include Bordeaux-style blends.

There have been a lot of newcomers to Virginia wine over the last few decades and while Reynard Florence is only a few years old, founders and proprietors Roe and Dee Allison are no strangers to the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge. The two, purchased the land where Reynard Florence is located shortly after they were married in 1976.

Come experience the magic of Upper Shirley Vineyards, a one-of-a-kind estate, winery, restaurant and wedding venue perched above one of the most scenic bends on the James River. Here in Tidewater Virginia the hours unspool at a more gracious pace. Senses awaken, and stress melts away, leaving you space for more meaningful connections with friends and family.

30 minutes from downtown Richmond, and 35 minutes from Williamsburg, located just off Route 5 and the Capital Bike Trail, Upper Shirley Vineyards is ensconced in a rural wonderland. The estate boasts history and scenic beauty on an epic scale and an embarrassment of culinary riches—bottomland produce, fresh-caught seafood—and world-class wines made from our own estate-grown grapes. 

Virginia Mountain Vineyards was established in the spring of 1998 but today we tend 5,625 vines covering more than 9.5 acres.
