Valley Road Vineyards

Gateway to the Nelson 151 Trail

Located at the gateway to the Rockfish Valley on Route 151 in Albemarle County, Valley Road Vineyards opened its doors in August 2016.

Its 15 acre Afton campus affords visitors commanding Blue Ridge views and is conveniently situated in the heart of the Monticello Viticultural Area for easy guest access.

In addition to the Virginia Governor's Cup Gold Medal-winning 2014 Petit Verdot, Valley Road Vineyards offers fourteen other varietals and blends in its tasting room, “SIP,” which is open to the public daily from 10:30am to 5:30pm, with last tastings served at 5:00pm (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas). A 'Classic Tasting,' consisting of six varietals, is $10.95 (plus tax). Groups of six or more are welcome with an advance, prepaid reservation; the group tasting fee is $15 per person (tax and gratuity included).

A member of Nelson 151, Valley Road Vineyards was conceived by a group of friends who brought talents from successful careers in law, advertising, insurance, real estate development, and writing, among others. With their mutual love of Virginia and wine, a vineyard operation in the heart of the Monticello Viticulture Area seemed a good choice for a fun and rewarding business venture. With the vineyards firmly established, the founders expanded into retail distribution and debuted an event space suitable for weddings and special events in the second half of 2018.

La Crescent 2018

Bold, Tart, deep yellow color, med bodied white, with floral and apricot.

This is a very powerful wine.   We think Thai food is wonderful with it, but it also pairs well with chocolate, Strong creaming cheeses, and BBQ
