North Gate Vineyards gets an exciting transformation.
With grape tons of enthusiasm and some years of experience under their belts, two Virginia wine young professionals are bringing new life to North Gate Vineyards.
Since they posted about their opening in March, I have wanted to check out Walsh Family Wine. Vacuuming and laundry were done early and off I went to the wilds of western Loudoun.
There’s a story about this place. It was North Gate Vineyards, but in 2018 the Walshes purchased it and set up shop. What they have done in a short period of time is pretty fantastic. The property is gorgeous, and they’ve created a nice spot to unwind and relax. Most importantly, the wine is good too.
Gateway to the Nelson 151 Trail
Founded in 2015, Valley Road Vineyard has already garnered a reputation for Great Wine, Great People, and Great Place. With a gold medal-winning, Petit Verdot in the Virginia Governor's Case in its first year, Valley Road has gone on to receive medals for its Viognier and Meritage varietals -- plus rave reviews from visitors for its blends, sparkling wines and rosé. Located at the north end of Route 151, just south of Route 250 in Albemarle County, Valley Road Vineyards serves as the gateway to the Nelson 151 corridor and its beautiful Blue Ridge vistas.
There have been a lot of newcomers to Virginia wine over the last few decades and while Reynard Florence is only a few years old, founders and proprietors Roe and Dee Allison are no strangers to the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge. The two, purchased the land where Reynard Florence is located shortly after they were married in 1976.
You'll Taste The Difference.
Virginia Mountain Vineyards was established in the spring of 1998 but today we tend 5,625 vines covering more than 9.5 acres.
Bassett Virginia Craft Winery
Hamlet Vineyards, established in 2010 out of a love and admiration for winemaking, is a historic landmark of Southern Virginia. Located on 300 acres of rich countryside in Bassett Virginia, owners Butch and Virginia have cultivated a beautiful and fruitful vineyard. Partnering with Michael Shaps, owner and winemaker at Michael Shaps Wineworks, Hamlet's fruit and craft wines truly reflect the essence of Southern Virginia.
