Wine Education & Exploration of Viognier at DuCard Vineyards
Often called Virginia’s signature white grape, Viognier is deeply rooted in Virginia soil. But where did it come from? How do different terroirs and vinification practices affect its aromas and flavors? Join us to discover the answers.
An aromatic beauty, Viognier is the only grape permitted in the Northern Rhône application of Condrieu. Viognier is also the most-planted white Rhone varietal in the US and produces a full bodied wine with intense aromatics of peach, apricot, honeysuckle and rose. In this class, we will taste old and new world examples and see how terroir influences what ends up in our glasses.
We will hold two sessions: 12pm and again at 3:00pm. Small bites will accompany the wines, and wines will be available for purchase at the end of each session.
Session price: $75 per person (Wine Club discounts apply, Email Beth for WC reservations), advance reservation required, and space is limited.
