Grace Estate Winery

Mount Juilet Farm Vineyard Crozet

Grace Estate Winery was established in 2013 with the mission to create wine that exhibited the unique aspects of our Mount Juliet Vineyard. Now more than 20 years after its initial planting, our vineyard yields unsurpassed quality with each harvest, exemplifying the terroir of the Monticello region.

The Wines

All Grace Estate wines are made from grapes grown on site at Mount Juliet Farm in Crozet, Virginia, near Charlottesville. The vineyards, as old as 25th leaf, are planted on various soils, and are between elevations of 750-1,000 ft.  We grow 12 grape varieties, including Viognier, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Sauvignon Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Tannat, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chenin Blanc.

The Farm Winery

As a family-owned business, Grace Estate celebrates the influential and elaborate history of the Grace family. From the Medieval period to the Industrial Revolution to today, the Graces have been a pioneering family. With Grace Estate Winery, John and Lola Grace look to carry that spirit into this industry.

At Grace Estate, we provide a unique hospitality experience. Whether you’re enjoying wine and music in our modern tasting room, taking a walk through our trailblazing vineyard, or experiencing the breathtaking view from our Estate mansion, we hope you are drawn in by the spirit of this place, and return again less as a customer and more as a member of our family. Cheers!

Coming Events

Bluestone Vineyard

Wine from the Shenandoah Valley AVA.

2017 Bluestone Chardonnay

Aged Sur Lees for a Buttery Finish

These particular grapes came from our first harvest from the newer vines on the property to the east. After fermentation, the wine stayed on the heavy lees (finished yeast) for 9 months, with monthly stirring of the barrels. This resulted in a wonderful, creamy Chardonnay.

2013 Petit Verdot

After being released three years ago it was decided that the high acid, high tannic wine needed more time to mellow. Cellared for few more years, we are finally re-releasing this Petit Verdot. Still more aggressive than the 2014, the vintage, with its jam-y fruit flavors, is a great one to age for a few more years, but can definitely be enjoyed now.

2016 Bluestone Viognier

Virginia's Signature White Wine

Fermented mostly in acacia barrels which is less sweet than oak and helps lighten the weighty-ness of Viognier. This vintage is beautifully dense fruit flavors and finishes dry. one of our best wines to go with a meal.

Bluestone Beau

Vidal Blanc-Traminette blend

A sweet golden wine named for our sweet golden (retriever) dog. A Vidal Blanc-Traminette blend, it is sweetened to 3% residual sugar.
