Spinning Jenny Vineyard

Spinning Jenny Vineyard

Spinning Jenny Vineyard is owned and operated by Jennifer and Curtis Brown, a retired couple with a desire to do more with their 37-acre farm than just grow hay for area livestock and  horses.

The vineayard was first planted in the spring of 2015 and another 80 vines were planted in 2016 followed by 315 in 2017. The vineyard is now  a full acre with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Vidal Blanc, and Cabernet Franc vines.

2016 saw the first year of  a very small harvest of 2nd year Chardonnay and Pinot Gris that allowed some experimental batches of a few gallons of wine to be  made.  In 2017 the focus was on wine making and expanding the winery building and tasting room.

The winery was licensed in August, 2018 along with the completion of  the winery production area in a new building.  The tasting room and kitchen were completed in January 2019 and the winery opened for business on April 19, 2019.

The tasting room is located directly on the Transamerica Cycling Route 76 and the vineyard is just a couple hundred yards from the New River Trail State Park – Draper Access.
