Emma Holman / Wednesday, April 11, 2018 / Categories: Winery Moss Vineyards Dedicated to the science and art of growing and blending. Moss Vineyards was founded with the vision and dream of providing people with the highest quality American wines, hand-crafted in a breathtaking Blue Ridge mountain setting in the heart of Virginia. The wines are produced with great attention to the science and art of growing and blending grapes that result in fine, balanced wines. The mountaintop vineyard and winery were designed and built to offer our guests and visitors what is simply one of the most beautiful vineyard and winery experiences to be had in Virginia. Moss Vineyard wines are made with serious consideration to every element that is required to bottle some of the very best wines anywhere in the world. We have an ideal terroir in the historic Monticello wine-grape growing area of Thomas Jefferson's Virginia; the support and knowledge of some of region's - and the world's - master winemakers; and a drive and dedication to produce nothing less than the best. The 9 acre vineyard is at 1000 feet above sea level and contains 9,000 Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Viognier, and Vermentino vines. This is a true labor of love and dedication to the experience of being on this mountain, growing some of the world's finest grapes, and crafting incredibly special wines.
